Business Centre Europe - Building 15
Architectural atelier HIT-95 was established in 1995, by arch. Tatyana and Jordan Hristovi and since then its aim is high- quality projecting and professional achievements with the main idea behind its works - the optimum, realistic and valuable solutions within each of the undertaken projects, in collaboration with the investors, clients and users.
The regulated plot is situated on Iskarsko Shose, Bul., and the building is situated deep in it. The access is provided from west and east. In the area are freely located service- buildings - fast-food restaurant with terraces with water effects, covered with poly-carbonate elements terrace for smoking area, landscaping - water and green zones, open-air-relax-places. These are the
specific elements which distinguish this complex from the others, built in the country within the last few years, for which typical is to interfere severely in the existing background and to dominate over the other buildings. Building 15 very clearly enters the complex, enriching its functions with the gourmet-restaurant and the exhibition areas on the first floor. With the two bodies, different in height and usage - an office- administrative part and a storehouse the "15" perfectly suits with the already erected edifices.
The structural principal is skin and bones, the material for the office part is steel-concrete. For the storage hall are used steel construction elements. The external walls of the storage are from composite panels. The external walls of the office part are executed of aerated concrete and XPS thermal isolation on the whole outer surface. The color solutions are based on the principle of contrast - silver-metallic and dark-blue, for harmonic relations with the rest of the complex. The facade glazing is made of aluminium windows ETEM-E-45. Partly the southern elevation is with structural curtain wall - ETEM-E-85. The glasses are STOP RAY VISION 50. The ratio solid:transparent for the walls is 7:5 which is based on the bigger amount of sun- light input (typical for the region). The external sun- shadow devices are electrically controlled and with automatic wind-and- sun-sensors, by "Hunter Douglas".
The materials used and described in the previous section are contributing to the sustainability of the building. It is integrated in the whole complex due to it space-column characteristics, material and colour usage and proper connections to the other buildings pedestrian and automobile accesses. Building 15 is the first in Bulgaria to be with a BREEAM Certificate for green buildings with rate Very good.
