Konrad Apartments is located in Old Town of Tartu, replacing old outhouse. Building has open air staircase, which penetrates the volume like a worms burrow, giving all users access to sunny public roof terrace.
Konrad Apartments and Offices is located inside really dense old town area, surrounded by red brick firewalls and courtyards of another plots. Plot is small and the building had to be located at place and shape of old low value outhouse. Lack of space and light were the biggest issues here. As a solution to those issues, public open air staircase gives access to the sunny roof, which has beautyful views to the roofscape of Old City.
