Prishtina Business Center

A storage facility is not usually treated in a human scale as a result of its function. We wanted to change the way they are perceived through our way of thinking and design. This is a project in which architecture combines and reformulates the industrial language itself to generate new spaces for work and other related activities.

These spaces are designed to enable a variety of functions, thus came the need to create a worker friendly space and an easy one to access for every user. This flexible way of design simplifies the process of adapting the user’s space to the user’s needs.
With the intentions of making the most out of the location the buildings lie in harmony with their surroundings, creating a strategic point inside of Prishtina’s industrial zone therefore initiating a somewhat diverse environment regarding its use.
The complex consists of five office buildings, four storage facilities, industrial facility/warehouse, and also of flexible spaces for rent for different uses such as: office, warehouse, showroom, shopping center, restaurant, cafe bar, conference center etc.

The main goal to be reached with the project was designing a structure able to pull of the flux and the usage meant for it that came as a request from the client. Keeping a simple industrial look while adding the aesthetic that we wanted was a challenge in itself.
The main movement in the façade was a smart solution covering the insulation needs while we were reaching our level of design needs and the look we were initially searching for.
The urban solution within the industrial zone made our space accessible and easy to use, while creating a possibility to divide the areas and utilize them according different needs. The first floor is mainly designated to be used as offices which can be a part of the warehouses or rented by different parties for their specific needs.
As result came a really put together complex that satisfied the needs of all parties involved.

The entirety of the buildings is constructed in steel structure which enables us to have a sense of freedom when choosing the spaces for different uses, hence the multipurpose facilities. The buildings membrane was constructed with sandwich panels, which was the easiest and the best solution for this type of structures.
The facade is designed in that way so it can fulfill the buildings needs and functions regarding its insulation where the openings optimize the usage of light throughout working hours for the office workers, while protecting the items stored from overexposure.
Thinking about sustainable designs, the buildings provide themselves through sustainable systems and functions. The facility utilizes the natural resources provided by atmospheric water and renewable energy.
These buildings were thought and designed to set new standards for an often-overlooked building type.
