Chronicle from Europe: Poland In the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award

From September 24 to October 13, 2019, an exhibition will be open on the boulevards in Warsaw, organized by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation and presenting “Poland in the Competition for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award”, featuring a timeline with all winners, finalists and shortlisted structures marked on it. The compilation of all Polish projects ever nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award since 1996 when Poland participated in the competition for the first time.

The exhibition, which is an element of this year’s celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Architektura-murator monthly magazine, is accompanied by an extensive Internet publication of the Architektura-murator, to be downloaded in pdf form from www.architektura25.pl/z-archiwum-a-m/.

The exhibition will be opened at 6.00 pm, September 24, by curators Ivan Blasi and Marcin Szczelina; the Architect of the City of Warsaw Marlena Happach; and Ewa P. Porębska, Editor-in-Chief of the Architektura-murator monthly magazine and the first Polish juror of the Mies van der Rohe Award (2013).
